Milagu Kozhambu - Pepper Kozhambu - Spicy Black Pepper Sauce for Rice

I have been trying to make a proper South Indian (read tamil) lunch on Sundays lately. Given a choice my husband would request for Sambar with Potato fry every week. And my son would want Rasam with Vendakka Fry. After going thru weeks of doing this, I decided it is time to change. Now I have convinced them that I will try something else for a change. I run it by them a few days before so that I can buy the ingredients.

Vegan Black Beans, Sweet Potato and Oats Burger - Super Healthy Recipe

Burger has a very bad reputation. Whenever someone thinks of Burger, the thing that comes to most of our minds is the fast food restaurant. That does not make a healthy burger, does it. But it does not have to be like that. Burger could be a super healthy meal if you take the effort to do it. This burger is loaded with Veggies, beans and oats. The flavour and texture of this burger is just amazing.

Multi Grain Multi Seed Buttermilk Rolls

As you know I bake as part of a Baking Group called We Knead to Bake (Click here to see all the breads baked so far). Aparna gives us recipes every month and all we have to do is Bake. Simple isn't? Well unfortunately this month she could not give us a recipe to bake cause her oven was giving her misery. So we decided to bake a bread of our choice. I wanted to bake from Aparna's recipe. So I started bookmarking a few. And was at loss. She has so many recipes in her collection. Then finally I decided to go with these cause I had been meaning to make a burger and this worked wonderful with it.

African Sweet Potato and Peanut Butter Stew - Vegan

Do you have days when you want to make a dish and it kind of never happens? This is one such dish for me. I have been planning to make this for quite some time now. And even bought sweet potatoes a couple of times. Each time it was turned into some other dish (tasty, but not this dish).

The finally I got a chance to make it. To be honest, I am not sure how authentic it is! Cause I have never been to Africa or eaten in many African restaurants. The only cuisine I know is Ethiopian. Oh Wow, that is some food. Well, that is a discussion for another day.

Bhindi Sambhariya - Stuffed Okra

Okra was my favourite vegetable as a child. My mom would make me an okra side dish pretty much every week. Most of the time, it was the simple stir fried okra. And it was mostly eaten with rasam and rice. My son also shares this love of Okra and I always try to get some good okra and prepare a side dish for him

It is a sentiment you will understand only if you are a blogger. The recipes need to make it to the blog before the day of the celebration so that the readers can use it to cook for the festival. Then ofcourse, I have to make something for us, don't I?

Vegan Black Bean and Vegetable Soup

Soups are just the thing for a cold winter day. A bowl of warm soup, some bread and a book to cozy up with. This soup is very precious to me. Want to know why?

Well, you might think it is funny. It is cause of the black beans. When we lived in US, I used to get black beans when ever I needed it for Soups, Mexican food, Burgers etc. Here in the UK, I found out the hard way that you do not get Black beans at all. Yep, you heard me right. So where did I get this one from?

Vegan Naturally Coloured Red Velvet Cupcakes - Eggless Red Velvet Cake - No Artificial Colour

February is a month with Romance in the air. Whether you care or not, it is hard not to get caught up in the festivities. Valentine's Day is here and you might as well celebrate and enjoy! Now when it comes to celebration, what better way to celebrate than with a piece of cake?

Red Velvet Cake fits the romantic bill perfectly. The beautiful red colour contracted by the white frosting... hmmm, yumm!! The cake has a hint of cocoa and of course as the name suggests, it is red in colour. The frosting is usually Cream Cheese.
