Hershey's Ultimate Chocolate Brownies

Brownie Baking is becoming a routine in our household. All of us love brownies. I have already posted a couple of brownie recipe in my blog.

Triple Chocolate and Coffee Brownie (easy to make and a family favourite)
Peanut Butter and Jelly Brownie (for the love of PBJ)

They have all been baked quite a few times and shared too! Has been a bit hit every time.

This time I decided to make something different. As I have lately had a huge success with the chocolate cake made from the Hershey recipe, I decided to give the Hershey Brownie recipe as well a go. I have halved the original recipe and it fit my 8*8 square pan.

Ingredients

Cocoa 38 gms
Baking Soda 1/4 tsp
Butter 75 gms
Boiling Water 1/4 cup
Sugar 200 gms
Egg 1
Flour 87 gms
Vanilla Extract 1/2 tsp
Salt 1/8 tsp
Chocolate Chip 1/2 cup (I used 1/4 cup of milk chocolate and 1/4 cup of white chocolate)

Method of Preparation

1. Heat oven to 175 C (350 F). Grease an 8-inch square baking pan with butter, line it with parchment paper and flour it.

2. In a mixing bowl, add the cocoa and baking soda. Mix well.

3. Add half of the butter and mix well.

4. Add the hot water and beat till the mixture thickens.

5. Add the sugar, egg and the rest of the butter and beat till the mix is smooth.

6. Add flour, vanilla and salt. Mix till combined.

7. Finally stir in chocolate chips.

8. Pour into prepared pan.

9. Bake for 30-35 min till the centre is baked well and the sides start to pull away from the pan.

10. Let it rest on the pan for atleast 30 min. Cool on the wire rack for another 30 min.

Slice into 16 equal pieces (or 9 if you like really nice big pieces). Serve warm or cold. Add a scoop of Vanilla Ice cream!
